Time for something serious.....! This was actually inspired by a Documentary I saw called 'Under. The Wire' ..
It's about two reporters on a mission to bring us the true state of things in Homs. Paul Conroy and Marie Helvin risked their lives to bring us stories and actual accounts of what was happening. Sadly Marie lost her life and Paul was badly wounded after a bomb exploded very near to them.
This Documentary is brilliant and well worth a view!
The track begins with an instrumental section that paints the scene, part 1 of a suite of 5 pieces. Parts 2 -5 dealing with war torn Homs in Syria.
lyrics
Airys Suite: (for Homs)
Pt 1) Intro March & Uprising Overture
Pt 2) Tensions Build
You Must Stay Away, Please Stay Inside
The Consequences Will Be Justified
I Will Let You Know, On Things You Need to Know
Go Back To Your Homes, There Is Nothing to Do
Do As I Say, Not As I Do
In This Land Of Mine, I Will Rule Defined
I'm President of this Middle Earth
I’ll Rule Over You For What It’s Worth
No Democracy, For You Will See
I’ll Say How It Is, That’s How It Will Be
No Demonstrations Allowed On The Street
It’s My Way You’ll See, Or Face Atrocity
Your Challenge to Me Will Be Met With Force
War Crimes Won’t Happen of Course
We Know What To Do, With The Likes Of You!
Civil War Is On The Brink, You Rebels Will Be Extinct
Time To Bite The Dust Or risk Being Crushed
The Army Will Crush You If You Make A Stand
I'll Reign Supreme All over this Land
Just Get out of my way!, I am here to stay
Resistance is Futile, The War Will Begin
Flee If You Like, They won’t Let you In
Become a Refugee, For All The World To See
Pt 3) Let Battle Commence
Let Battle commence, You Have Been Warned
All's Fair in love and in war
We'll take you down immediately
Your rebel resistance won't Hurt Me
While Bombs Expolde, Vibrating The Ground
Sounds Like Thunder, Fire Raining Down
People Screaming, All over Town
Satans Laughing, Such an Evil Sound
Pt 4 Humanity Screams
The People They Resisted
Did The Best They Could
They Armed Themselves With Weapons’
It Was All Understood
The Fighting It Continued
For ten Years Or More
12 Million People Fled the Land
Escaping The War
But Where Are You now?
What has been Achieved ?
It Once Was a Thriving Place
Now Cities On Their Knees
They Didn’t Want This Leader
They’d Like to elect Their own
But no one Wouldn’t Listen
Assad Cared For His Own
Buildings Lie In Ruin
Infrastructure Gone
No Use in Being a Leader
When Your Country’s Has Gone
But Where Are You now?
What has been Achieved ?
You Rule/Preside Over Barron Lands
While Humanity Screams. X2
Pt 5) City under Siege
The City Is under siege
The slaughter carries on
They target reporters
With tanks and their bombs
Colvin and Conroy
Are under the wire
Sending messages of Genocide,
Devastation and fire
Each day is relentless
There’s shelling all around
Got to move to another house
As this one’s going down
Authorities, have been tipped off
As to where the media are
Desperate to silence
The truth from afar
You hide behind your armies now
You dismiss the news as lies
You say that It’s all made up
About you and your kind
Families are torn apart
Starving orphans roam around
Look for something to eat
Some shelter just for now
Foreign aid is on the way
But the workers have been killed
With chemicals and shrapnel
Indiscriminately used
The Hospital’s in crisis
There’s bodies all around
Infants with horrific wounds
The clock is ticking down
They do their best to treat them
But medicine is scares
The constant bombing kills some more
We look on With despair
There’s evil in this city
There’s evil in this land
Murder and bloodshed
All over this town
The cities under siege
Peace has left this place
The rebels do the best they can
Adversity they face
The cities under siege
Peace has left this place
The rebels do the best they can
Fighting For Their Land

With its debut album, this young band from Vienna follows the footsteps of honorable Austrian prog masters like "Matter Of Taste". The music on this concept album is not of the kind I'd call particularly innovative - it travels pretty much on well known roads paved by many others long ago. However, these youngsters do it in a highly pleasant way, skillfully avoiding the pitfalls of pseudo-progressive phrase rehashing most of the time - certainly more successfully so than several of their experienced grand paragons of prog.
